Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi organizes the Executive Committee Conference

On the morning of May 8th, in Long Bien district, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi held a conference to review the activities of the first quarter and implement tasks for the last 9 months of 2024.

Mr. Duong Hoai Nam, Member of the Hanoi Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council of Long Bien District, chaired the conference. Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, Vice Chairman of the HAUFO attended and delivered a speech.

 

Following the 2024 work plan, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi and its branches actively participated in various activities during the first quarter. The association followed the foreign direction set by the Hanoi Party Committee, Hanoi People's Committee, and the guidance of the HAUFO to achieve practical results and enhance the city's foreign relations activities. Their engagements included establishing a new branch, celebrating the Hanoi Department of Health's 69th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctor's Day, and taking part in the Commemoration Day of National Defenders organized by the Embassy. Furthermore, they visited the Russian Embassy to offer condolences to the families affected by a tragic incident at Crocus City Hall, paid tribute at the V.I. Lenin statue on Lenin's 154th birthday, and joined the Immortal Regiment program hosted by the Russian Science and Culture Center.

 

 

In the final 9 months of 2024, the Association will concentrate on various significant activities. These include commemorating the 25th anniversary of Hanoi's recognition as a "City for Peace" by UNESCO (16/7/1999 - 16/7/2024) and the 30th anniversary of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant's operation (20/12/1994 - 20/12/2024) . Planned activities involve visits to the hydropower plant, participation in the national Vietnam - Russia Exchange Conference, and collaborative efforts with the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Quang Nam. Additionally, the Association will work closely with the Pushkin Institute and the Russian Embassy to organize a children's painting competition marking the 30th anniversary of the Basic Principles Agreement on Friendship between Vietnam and Russia (16/6/1994 - 16/6/2024) and the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's liberation (10/10/1954 - 10/10/2024).

 

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai highly praised the activities of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi in achieving in the past quarter, with many practical activities helping to enhance people-to-people foreign relations and strengthen the friendship between Vietnam and Russia.

 

At the conference, the Executive Committee congratulated Ms. Tran Thi Nhi Ha, former Director of Hanoi Department of Health, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi on her new assignment. Being transferred to work at the National Assembly Standing Committee, holding the position of Deputy Chairperson of the People's Assemblies Committee, she shared her commitment to continue contributing responsibly to all activities of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi, contributing to the overall success of city's people-to-people foreign relations activities.
