MEMBER ORGANIZATION'S ACTIVITIES
On the afternoon of January 29th, at the Cuban Embassy in Hanoi, the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association of Central and Hanoi cooperated to lay flowers to commemorate the 171st anniversary of the birthday of Cuban national hero José Martí (01/28/1853-01/28/2024) at Tao Dan Flower Garden, Hanoi.
Speaking at the ceremony, Cuban Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen highlighted the significant contributions of the national hero José Martí in the struggle for independence of the Cuban people at the end of the 19th century, as well as his contributions as a seed planter for the Vietnam-Cuba friendship.
José Martí is a distinguished thinker, revolutionary, and cultural figure of Cuba as well as the entire Latin American region. José Martí is recognized as the first Cuban to lay the foundation for the brotherly relationship between the Vietnamese and Cuban peoples when he wrote the story "A Walk through the Land of An Nam" praising the patriotic and labor-loving spirit of the Vietnamese people published in the magazine "Tuoi Vang" at the end of the 19th century. Later, it becomes a classic children's literature work in Cuban literature.
