HAUFO ACTIVITIES
In the festive atmosphere of welcoming the Spring of the Year of the Dragon 2024, to enhance the friendship between the people of Vietnam and other countries, on the evening of January 16th, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations organized an international cultural exchange program "Welcoming the New Year 2024" at the Ho Guom Opera House.
The program was attended by Mr. Ngo Le Van, Deputy Head of the Central Foreign Affairs Department; Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, former President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations; Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen, Member of the Hanoi Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee; Mr. Saadi Salama, Head of the Diplomatic Corps in Vietnam, State Ambassador of Palestine; and many other Ambassadors, Deputy Ambassadors, officials from foreign embassies, representatives of international organizations, non-governmental organizations, foreign students studying and working in Hanoi.
Speaking at the exchange night, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ky, HAUFO’s Chairman thanked the international delegates for their support and assistance, standing alongside Vietnam on the path of integration and development, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's and Hanoi's positions on the international stage. He also sent best wishes to all participants in the program for a happy, prosperous, and successful new year.
On behalf of international friends, Mr. Saadi Salama, State Ambassador of Palestine, head of the diplomatic corps in Vietnam, sent best wishes to the people of the capital for a peaceful, happy, and prosperous new year. He wished success to the HAUFO in efforts to consolidate and promote people-to-people diplomacy activities, as well as nurture solidarity and friendship among the people of Hanoi specifically and the people of Vietnam in general with the international community.
The program included interactions, sharing, and evaluation of foreign affairs in general and people-to-people diplomacy in particular in 2023 by Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga and Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski, Ambassador of Australia to Vietnam. 2023 was a successful year for foreign affairs, especially people-to-people diplomacy nationwide and in Hanoi.
The meticulously staged, magnificent, and distinctive artistic program featured vibrant performances by artists from Vietnam and various countries such as Laos, Indonesia, Mongolia, the United States, Japan, and China.
The program was a gift for Vietnamese delegates and international friends on the occasion of the new year, contributing to strengthening unity and friendship between the people of Vietnam and other countries in general, as well as between the people of Hanoi and those from capitals and cities worldwide.
