The world people's movement in the past 10 years

According to speakers at the seminar, in the past 10 years under fierce competition between major countries, the world and regional people's movements have undergone many changes. The seminar also provided made forecasts on world people's movements in the next 10 years and analyzed the impact on foreign affairs, especially people-to-people diplomacy.

Tran Dac Loi, former deputy head of the Standing Committee of the Commission for Foreign Relations of the Party Central Committee, highlighted the factors that have influenced the world people's movement in the past 10 years.

He said there had been a transformation in structure, production relations, labor and society under the influence of the technological revolution. The globalization process and the application of new liberal policies over the past 40 years had resulted in part of the traditional industrial working class shrinking significantly, and an informal, distributed, decentralized, and precarious social position was spreading more and more. The position of workers in relation to employers was increasingly weakened. The explosion of the internet opened up the possibility of forming wide social networks, but also contributed to the dispersion and division of mass forces.

Tran Dac Loi forecast social protest movements would continue to erupt with new and complex methods of gathering. In addition, Western powers would continue to promote democracy and human rights to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.

In the face of complicated developments of the world and regional situation that may have a strong impact on people's movements Tran Dac Loi also made a number of proposals such as: strengthening the work research of the world people's movement and developing a partnership development strategy.

Speaking at the seminar, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Phuong Nga said he appreciated the profound discussions and opinions given and said that they were practical and useful recommendations for people in public affairs.

Agreeing that the world people's movement was greatly affected by changes in the world situation, Nguyen Phuong Nga said that the world people's movements had to respond to these challenges.

"Through the reports, it can be seen that our people's organizations, socio-political organizations have made great efforts to strengthen cooperation on bilateral and multilateral channels to promote the role of Vietnam. on all forums," Nguyen Phuong Nga said.

In addition, he also pointed out limitations such as poor forecasting, not having breakthrough thinking and a set amount of human and financial resources for research

Evaluating a number of recommendations raised by representatives of people's organizations, President Nguyen Phuong Nga agreed that it is necessary to review and classify partners in order to have a plan and specifically develop.. Strengthening the partnership between Vietnamese and international people's organizations must be practical and associated with interests.

In addition, he said it was necessary to pay attention to the characteristics of organizations, associations and industries to promote their roles. In particular, it is imperative to invest in research, develop a strategy to organize international seminars, and invite international friends with in-depth research to participate.
