On September 28, at Long Bien Park, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi, in collaboration with the Pushkin Sub-Institute and the Long Bien District People’s Committee, organized the Vietnamese-Russian Children’s Painting Contest “Hanoi - Moscow in My Heart.”
This event celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Hanoi Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), the 107th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution (November 7, 1917 - November 7, 2024), and looked forward to the 75th anniversary of Vietnam-Russia diplomatic relations (January 30, 1950 - January 30, 2025).
Attendees included representatives from the Russian Federation Embassy leadership, the Central Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association, the Pushkin Sub-Institute, the HAUFO, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi, and Long Bien District.
The contest attracted 100 children from elementary and secondary schools in Long Bien District, several districts of Hanoi, and the Russian Embassy School in Vietnam.
In his opening speech, Mr. Đường Hoài Nam, Secretary of the Long Bien District Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi, affirmed that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia is alwa ys warm and reliable, having endured many challenges and global changes.
The contest aims to educate the younger generation about the friendship, solidarity, and bonds between the peoples of Vietnam and Russia. It also provides a platform for children from Hanoi and Russian children to express their love for their homeland, contributing to introducing the image of Vietnam and Russia, as well as the capitals of Hanoi and Moscow, said Đường Hoài Nam.
Ivan Sergeevich Nhesterov, the Charge d’affaires of the Russian Embassy, emphasized that events like the Vietnamese-Russian Children’s Painting Contest “Hanoi - Moscow in My Heart” are important for preserving the glorious tradition of friendship between Russia and Vietnam. He also appreciated the initiatives of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi in developing relations between the two countries’ peoples.
The contest judges noted that the entries were very well completed, showcasing creativity in each painting, accurately reflecting the theme. Each drawing represented a unique perspective from the children.
The organizers awarded prizes to the children with the most beautiful and meaningful paintings in the contest. Paintings that won special and first prizes were auctioned to provide gifts for 20 students in difficult circumstances due to the impact of storm number 3 in Long Bien District.
The Vietnamese-Russian Children's Painting Contest “Hanoi - Moscow in My Heart” was a playground for Vietnamese and Russian children to demonstrate their talents and strengthen solidarity. It also created opportunities for them to share empathy with less fortunate peers, demonstrating national solidarity through small acts.
