Exciting 2024 Friendship Tennis Tournament in Hanoi

Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, 25 years Ha Noi Honored by UNESCO as the "City for Peace", on September 22, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports to organize the 9 Friendship Tennis Tournament.

In her opening speech, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations Tran Thi Phuong affirmed that sports bring world and people are wonderful things. Health is a precious asset of each person, participating in sports activities is a way to help improve spiritual life and exercise health.

“Through the tournament, athletes will have more opportunities to exchange and understand each other, love and be more attached to Hanoi,” Ms. Tran Thi Phuong affirmed, at the same time the activity also contributes to strengthening friendly cooperation between Hanoi and embassies of other countries and international organizations in the city.

The tournament includes men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, mixed doubles, competing in age groups 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, attracting the participation of nearly 100 amateur players from the Department of Culture and Sports; Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations and member friendship associations; embassies and international organizations such as: Australia, Israel, USA, Russia, Japan, Russia, Filipino Community in Hanoi...

In the end, in the women's singles event, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize in the age group of 31-40 to athlete Marina Xaganova (Russian Embassy); the men's singles age group of 31-40 to athlete Tran Thanh Do (Vietnam - UK Friendship Association); the men's singles age group of 41-50 to athlete Jonathan Baker (Chief Representative of UNESCO Office in Vietnam); the men's singles age group of 51-60 to athlete David Fidex (US Embassy).

Meanwhile, in the men's doubles event, two athletes Tran Thanh Do - Do Van Vuong (Vietnam - UK Friendship Association) won first prize in the age group 31-40; Doan Long - Tran Hanh (UNESCO Association Hanoi) won first prize in the age group 41-50; Nguyen Mong Thang - Tran Phuong (French Embassy) won first prize in the age group 52-60. In the mixed doubles event, Utsumi Rai and Utsumi Mako won first prize in the age group 41-50.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the First Prize to the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association of Hanoi; the Friendship Prize to Mr. Le Quang Long, Head of the Management Board of Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones.
